I'm a big fan of these interiors but I believe Connie Hayes is also well known for her beautiful paintings of Maine. It's just beautiful work. I love that she's doesn't nitpick with details but seems to focus more on strong color keys and sensitive temperature variations. Look how the colors in this interior painting all come together to create such a harmonious color key. She perfectly fits them into this specific envelope of light. I can see why Colin Page would team up with her for a show. :)
P.S. I'm back

Wow, you have a talent to find great artists! I am delighted to see the work of the artists you have posted on this blog and thanks for that.
I have to pay a 20 cent fine on my overdue library copy of Connie's "Borrowed Views' book.
This is a beautiful painting.
I'm lucky enough to have a copy of "Borrowed View's" and find myself pulling it out frequently for color inspiration. I've seen her work many times in New Era Gallery, on Vinalhaven and I always have to resist the urge to grab one of her paintings off the wall and go running down the street...
Hi,
It's about light....
Kind regards,
José
Another favorite of mine. I saw her work once like a year ago and then forgot her name. I searched and searched until I found it again. You have some great references/resources here. Thanks for sharing.
