I really like the other portraits in the series, but this is really special. Of course the brush/edgework is just great, but the amazing thing to me is the temperature variations. This is how light works. Almost every strokes is a temperature variation yet the variations still stay within the color family of each mass. It's why it feels so alive. Then, all these colors masses (each teeming with life) together create a color key that is so believable. This is how light works. Just amazing. This is how to paint! :)
